This custom tile hearth was commissioned for a private residence, designed to bring deep personal meaning to the heart of the home. Because the homeowner is an avid knitter, we collaborated to translate the cozy, interlocking geometry of a knit stitch into a permanent, structural ceramic installation.

The textile inspired pattern was drawn out and painted by hand across the tile grid before firing. The final palette features rich, earthy terracotta and warm cream tones. These colors were carefully selected to complement the home’s current decor while remaining timeless and versatile enough to harmonize with future interior style changes. The result is a beautiful intersection of textile tradition, architectural detail, and functional art.
